Avengers: Doomsday Surpasses $50 Million in Advance Ticket Sales Three Months Before Release
Disney says Avengers: Doomsday has crossed $50 million in domestic presales more than three months before release.

Avengers: Doomsday has surpassed $50 million in domestic presales, according to Hugh Johnston, chief financial officer of The Walt Disney Company. The figure was disclosed Wednesday, September 9, with the movie still more than three months away from release.
Johnston revealed the total during a conversation at the Goldman Sachs Communacopia + Technology Conference.
“We’re three months out from the movie and we already have $50 million of pre-sales, literally three months out.”
Marvel Studios has therefore already secured more than $50 million in ticket sales before the final months of the Avengers: Doomsday marketing campaign.
One day before Johnston’s statement, the Global Box Office account reported that the movie had crossed $40 million in domestic presales with 100 days to go before its release.
That figure had not come from Disney. Now, however, the company itself has confirmed the $50 million milestone.
Avengers: Doomsday Is Already Outpacing Spider-Man in Presales
That demand was also evident in figures released earlier. When general ticket sales opened in August, sources told TheWrap that the first two days of Avengers: Doomsday were running about 65% ahead of the first two days of Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
The comparison needs context, however. Brand New Day began its presales only 45 days before release, while Doomsday started selling premium-format tickets in July and opened general ticket sales roughly four months before hitting theaters. The two sales curves are therefore not directly comparable.
Even so, the early figures are already impressive. Variety reported that Avengers: Doomsday brought in $16.5 million on its first day of presales, despite tickets being available only for premium formats at approximately 1,000 domestic theaters.
More than 70% of the advance tickets sold so far are now for Infinity Vision, the premium format being promoted by Disney.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Avengers: Doomsday hits U.S. theaters on December 18, 2026.
